With the Christmas holidays just ahead of us, I've started on my cost-saving holiday recycling projects and these include making little stars from old Christmas cards. The folding is a bit tricky in the beginning but once you've mastered the folds, you can make a lot in a very short time. I found this site which gives very clear instructions on how to make a 5-pointed star decoration.
I have also written and posted all kinds of holiday pojects and ideas in Suite 101about reusing and recycling greeting cards, tree ornaments and other stuff from around the house. Here are the links if you want to get started now.
I'll be adding more tips and ideas as we get closer to Christmas. Meanwhile I think you will find plenty to keep you and your kids busy without spending a huge amount.
